Woodhead International is one of the leading architectural and design consultancies in Australia and Asia. With 14 offices spread throughout the Asia-Pacific region, Woodhead International is well positioned for rapid growth. Recognising the Internet as an important means of reaching its target audience, Woodhead approached Katalyst to work closely with them to redevelop their existing web presence.

Strategies
Woodhead’s site redevelopment has been implemented in a staged approach.

1. As a short-term solution, redevelop the interface and navigation design to provide improved corporate branding, whilst retaining the existing content and site structure.

2. Redevelop the entire site structure, focusing on providing the site visitor with higher quality, targeted information. This includes the creation of a number of case studies in which key projects are displayed using web-specific tools and features.

3. Develop a number of web applications to facilitate project management via the Internet, allowing multi-disciplinary teams to work together from a number of global locations.

Solution
Woodhead International and Katalyst Web Design have been working closely together to ensure that all objectives are being met.

The partnering approach being taken by the two companies is allowing Katalyst to broaden its understanding of Woodhead’s goals and objectives. Katalyst is now in a position to offer focused, detailed advice for the mutual benefit of both companies.

Stage 1 development was completed quickly and though the redeveloped site was well received, it was clear that all areas required improvement, especially through improved navigation design and better targeted information.

Stage 2 development is currently underway, with plans for the new site design now well advanced. Concurrent to Stage 2 is the planning of Stage 3 web applications, as these can operate independently of the Woodhead web site.
